What sports does the Rival App cover?

The Rival App covers a wide range of sports, from basketball to cycling and everything in between. Our experienced content creators provide in-depth analysis and commentary on the latest news and trends in the sports world. Whether you're a die-hard fan or a casual observer, you'll find something to interest you on the Rival App.

Our Live Score currently featuring live scores for soccer, we are thrilled to announce that in the near future, our coverage will expand to include NBA and a variety of other sports. Anticipate a broader spectrum of sports excitement as The Rival App continues to evolve and elevate your sports engagement experience.

How often is new content added to The Rival App?

We are constantly adding new content to The Rival App to keep our users engaged and up-to-date on the latest sports news and analysis. Our content schedule varies, but we strive to publish new articles and interviews every day. Additionally, we are always working on new features and updates to improve the user experience. Our team of experienced content creators are constantly researching, writing and editing new pieces to ensure that our users have access to the latest and most interesting sports content.

Our "Daily Digest" feature, which we introduced to provide our users with quick and brief information every day, is updated every day at 10AM in the morning, and you can access all the news of the last week from the interface of our application.

How do I submit an article to be published on The Rival App?

After reaching Tier 4 in the XP system, users have the opportunity to submit an article per month. If the article is approved by our editorial team, the article will be published within The Rival App. Users with at least one published article will also have the opportunity to convert their profiles into a Content Creator Profile. This allows users to showcase their writing skills and build a following within The Rival App community. Users who are at Tier 4 can send their posts to us using the "post" button located on their profiles. The Rival App users are requested to consider the following rules when submitting their posts:

How to send Highlight in The Rival App?

All of our Level 3 users on The Rival App can send notes marked with Yellow/Green in the text. To add a note, follow these steps:

  1. Open the article you want to add a note to.
  2. Open the menu located at the bottom right of the article.
  3. Click on the "Add Note" button in the menu.
  4. Follow the instructions on the screen.

Can I suggest a topic for an article or interview?

Yes, we welcome suggestions from our users for new topics to cover in our articles and interviews. You can submit your suggestions through The Rival App website or by emailing us at We value user feedback and take into account all suggestions when planning new content.

The Rival App Live Score

How can I see my favorite leagues and teams at the top of the screen?

You can choose your favorite leagues and teams during the first time you are using our Live Score through our introduction survey. You can also use our ‘’Favorites’’ section from our menu located at the top of the screen to choose your favorite teams and leagues.

Why I can’t find player profiles?

Our Player Profile section is under development right now. You will have access to all player profiles as soon as possible.

How can I get notifications from the matches I follow?

All notifications should be enabled automatically once you add a team or a match to your favorites unless you disable it from the menu located at the top of the Live Score screen.

Why you don’t cover all the leagues?

How much does it cost to subscribe to The Rival App?

The cost of subscribing to The Rival App varies depending on your location and the type of subscription you choose. We offer monthly and annual subscription options for different levels. Can I Upgrade or Downgrade My Subscription?

Upgrading Your Subscription:

Absolutely! You have the flexibility to upgrade your subscription at any time. Upgrading allows you to enjoy the enhanced benefits of a higher-tier package immediately after you pay the difference in price. This seamless process ensures you can access expanded content without any disruption.

Downgrading Your Subscription:

While we currently do not offer the option to directly downgrade to a lower-tier package, you have the option to switch to a smaller subscription package. This can be done by canceling your current subscription and then subscribing anew to your desired lower-tier package at the end of your current subscription period.

Changing Sport Categories in Your Subscription:

In The Rival App, our subscription packages, the Rookie and the All-Star, are tailored to align with your evolving sports interests. The Rookie Package enables you to choose one sport category, and the All-Star Package allows for the selection of two. You have the flexibility to change your sport category at the end of each billing cycle. It's important to note, however, that your initial category choice will be locked in for the first month, ensuring a consistent start to your subscription. From the second month onwards, you can easily update your preferences. To change your sport category, simply follow these steps: navigate to your profile, click on the menu located at the top right of the screen, and then select 'Select Categories'. This streamlined process in the app's settings allows you to customize your content experience according to your current sports interests.

How do I update my payment type?

If your original subscription was created through Apple/iTunes

  1. navigate to your settings page on your device
  2. Select your Apple ID
  3. Tap "Payment & Shipping" to update to a new payment method

If your original subscription was created and paid using Google Play/Android

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Play Store app
  2. Tap Profile in the upper right of the app
  3. Tap Payments and Subscriptions
  4. If asked, sign in to
  5. Under the payment method, you want to edit, tap Edit
  6. Make your updates
  7. Tap Update.

If I cancel my subscription in the middle of my monthly/annual subscription, can I still use it until the end of my subscription?

If you cancel before the end of your Subscription Term you will have access to your account for the remainder of the Subscription Term.

Is there a refund for subscription cancellation?

1.) You may cancel your subscription at any time on your account page; however, subject to such consumer cancellation rights, there are no refunds for cancellation.

2.) You may cancel your The Rival App account at any time – however, there are no pro-rated refunds for cancellation.

Payments are nonrefundable and there are no refunds or credits for partially used billing periods. In the event that The Athletic suspends or terminates your account for violating our Terms of Service, you understand and agree that you shall receive no refund or exchange for any unused time on a subscription, any license or subscription fees for any portion of the Services, or any content or data associated with your account.

At any time, and for any reason, we may provide a refund or discount to some or all of our subscribers. The amount and form of such refunds and the decision to provide them are at our sole and absolute discretion and does not obligate us to provide such refunds in the future under any circumstance.

How do I change my subscription plan?

To change your subscription plan, please follow the instructions below:

  1. Open the menu from the rightmost side of the taskbar located at the bottom of our application interface.
  2. Select the "Subscriptions" option from the menu.
  3. Choose the new subscription plan you want and select the "Change Plan" option.

It's important to note that your new plan will become effective immediately after your current subscription plan ends.

I was charged even though I cancelled my subscription

However, there are a few reasons why you may have been charged despite cancelling your subscription. One possible reason is that the cancellation was not processed before the next billing cycle began. In this case, the charge would have been for the upcoming subscription period.

Another possible reason is that there was an error in the cancellation process. This could be due to technical issues, human error, or a misunderstanding about the cancellation process. We take these issues very seriously and will work to resolve the situation as quickly as possible.

We apologize again for any inconvenience this may have caused and appreciate your patience while we work to resolve the issue.

How do I Cancel My Subscription?

If you purchased using in-app purchase on iOS:

  1. Open the Settings app on your iOS device
  2. Tap on your Apple ID at the top of the screen
  3. Tap on Subscriptions
  4. Tap on The Rival App subscription
  5. Tap Cancel.

If you purchased using in-app purchase on Android:

  1. Open your Google Play app
  2. Choose Subscriptions from the menu
  3. Choose The Rival App from the list
  4. Cancel

What is subscription restore and how is it done?

Subscription restore allows you to retrieve your subscription on another account if you have multiple accounts under the same platform. Whether accidentally or intentionally, you can restore a subscription you have on one account to another account on the same device. The account to which you restore the subscription will become your sole subscription account, and the subscription will be removed from your previous account. Please note that you can only perform the subscription restore once per month.

You can follow the steps below to learn how to restore your subscription:

  1. Log in to the account where you want to restore your subscription.
  2. Click on the element located on the far right of the taskbar.
  3. In the menu that opens, click on the 'My Subscriptions' option.
  4. From the 'Subscriptions' screen, select the 'Restore My Subscription' option.

How do I download The Rival App?

You can download The Rival App from the App Store or Google Play Store. Once downloaded, simply create an account or sign in using your preferred method of login and start exploring our content. Our app is user-friendly and easy to navigate, with a range of features designed to enhance your sports viewing experience.

Login Methods

There are several ways to access The Rival App. You can log in directly using your email, or you can use your Apple, Google, or Twitter accounts.

Additionally, a guest login option is available, although this will provide limited access to the app's features.

Do I Need to Signup to Access the Content?

No, you can read only 1 articles everyday for the first 15 days as a guest without signing up. After you’ve reached your limit, you’ll be prompted to create a free account in order to read more articles.

We believe that offering a limited number of free articles to our readers allows everyone to experience our content and decide whether or not they would like to subscribe.

How do I change my username?

To change your password go to your profile and press ‘’Edit Profile’’ button under your profile picture or from menu section.

What does it mean to block someone on The Rival App?

When you block someone on The Rival App, it means that they will no longer be able to see your profile on the app. This is a useful feature if you want to prevent someone from seeing your information or if you're concerned about your privacy.

When you block someone, they will not be notified that they have been blocked. However, they may notice that they can no longer see your profile. If you change your mind and want to unblock someone, you can do so at any time in your account settings.

It's important to note that blocking someone does not necessarily mean that you have reported them for inappropriate behavior. If you believe that someone has violated our terms of service or is behaving inappropriately, please report them to our customer support team immediately. We take all reports seriously and will investigate any allegations of misconduct.

How do I reset my password?

If you have been logged in with your e-mail and forgot your password you can follow the instructions below:

If you did not enter as a Guest and/or if you are already on the Login page:

  1. Tap on ‘’Continue with E-Mail’’.
  2. Tap on ‘’Reset’’.
  3. Enter your e-mail.
  4. Enter the verification code sent to your e-mail.
  5. Enter your new password.

If you logged in as a Guest:

  1. Open the menu from the rightmost part of the taskbar located at the bottom of our application interface.
  2. Go to your profile from the opened menu.
  3. Open the menu located at the top right of your profile.
  4. Select "Log in".
  5. Tap "Continue with email".
  6. Tap "Reset".
  7. Enter your email.
  8. Enter the verification code sent to your email.
  9. Enter your new password.

If you continue to receive an error message please make sure you are using the correct email address that is linked to your subscription. You can confirm this information by reviewing the confirmation email you received after completing your purchase.

How can I delete my account?

In order to delete your account you can follow the instructions below:

  1. Go to your profile
  2. Tap on ‘’Edit Profile’’ under your profile picture or go to menu section and Tap on ‘’Edit Profile’’
  3. Tap on ‘’Delete My Account’’

What can I do if I do not receive any push notifications?

If you are using IOS:

  1. Open your Iphone’s Settings app
  2. Tap notifications
  3. Tap The Rival App under Notification Style
  4. Toggle the ‘’Allow Notifications’’ switch on
  5. Choose your alert preferences
  6. Choose whether to hear notification sounds
  7. Choose whether to show notification badges

If you are using Android:

  1. Open your phone's Settings app.
  2. Tap Notifications and then tap App settings.
  3. Under "Most recent," find apps that recently sent you notifications.
    • To find more apps, in the dropdown menu, tap All apps.
  4. Tap The Rival App.
